WOW51900319 disconnect when mounting a quest mount in Battle for Azeroth

● Still happening

Patch 12.1.0 · Verified

Symptom: Error WOW51900319 (disconnected from the server) the moment you get on the quest's flying mount, every single time.

I was flying over Nazmir on the quest mount, about to drop the first totem, when the game threw me back to the login screen. Then it did it again. Here’s how I got through.

What happens

In several Battle for Azeroth quests, the moment you get on the quest’s flying mount the game disconnects you with WOW51900319. When you log back in the step hasn’t counted, so it happens again every time.

Players have reported it on these quests (English names):

  • Nazmir, the Forbidden Swamp — the flight where you drop totems on marked spots (my case)
  • Offensively Defensive
  • Midnight in the Garden of the Loa (riding Ata the Winglord)
  • Pa’ku, Master of Winds

What doesn’t help

Disabling addons, resetting the interface and console variables, restarting the game, or abandoning and retaking the quest. Players in the forum thread tried all of it without luck, so it isn’t your setup. Blizzard hasn’t said what causes it.

The workaround: /reload as you mount

  1. Create a macro: type /macro, create a new macro with any name and icon, and write only this line:

    /reload
  2. Drag the macro to your action bar (or to a controller button).

  3. Get on the quest mount and press the macro straight away, then press it a second time.

  4. Keep pressing it through the loading screen until the mount is well into the flight. From there the flight carries on normally and the step completes.

  5. On Pa’ku, Master of Winds, players also needed one more /reload right before landing.

Two reloads and a fair bit of stubbornness later, Nazmir was behind me. The swamp is lovely; the disconnects, less so. — Gerlari
